Captivating Chris Botti and Special Guests
As always Chris did not disappoint. He started solo with an incredible band. I especially enjoyed his drummer William Earl Kelsen who live in the stage with his enthusiasm and incredible percussion skills. I love that he had Caroline Campbell with him as a superb violinist. His humor and rapport with the audience was a great transition between himself and his special guests. Two female jazz singers rocked the rafters with their voices- along with a guitarist from South America and a saxophonist completed the evening. A great night- so much so we looked for the tour on untuned the next morning so that we could enjoy it again.
Only complaint is the venue. Although I love the smaller theater and the great acoustics - the seats in mezz are too tight- too uncomfortable and sat evening it was 80-85 inside- so had to step out frequently to the lobby! Wish Wilbur would spend some funds on upgrading!
